The British isles landscape that hid a criminal business

As the gang’s riches grew much too large for higher powers to disregard, the Residences of Parliament were drawn into a discussion over their affairs. The final straw arrived on 8 November 1769, when various users of the Coiners murdered an excise officer, William Deighton, who was sent to investigate them.

5 times right after the murder, a royal proclamation issued a £100 reward to any person who could identify the perpetrators. Dozens of arrests were being designed, and the once restricted-knit group commenced to implode. Customers turned on each and every other to help save on their own.
